In one way or another, each and every one of us has experienced some form of trauma. When these experiences are left unprocessed, a plethora of repercussions can take place, especially when it comes to our nervous systems. These unexplored emotions can become stored or trapped in our bodies, causing a fight, flight, freeze, or fawning response to take place. This response can cause a dysregulated nervous system which in turn can lead to physical and mental illnesses. With private Integrative Trauma Coaching, you will be guided to explore and release these trapped emotions and make the adjustments needed for your nervous system to be restored. Integrative Trauma Coaching utilizes Somatic Therapy, Biodynamic Breathwork, Body Trauma Liberation, and Meditation Practices to help you achieve your goals, feel more regulated, and create space for your inner light to shine bright.
Traditional talk therapy can be effective for some people in addressing trauma, but for others, incorporating the body into the healing process is essential. Somatic therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on the body and its sensations, movements, and emotions as a way to process and heal from traumatic experiences.
Somatic therapy can help to process and release traumatic memories that are stored in the body. Trauma memories are often stored in implicit memory, which means they are not easily accessible to conscious thought. Somatic therapy can help to access these memories through bodily sensations and movements, and allow the individual to process them.
Somatic therapy helps to regulate emotions by engaging the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain that often becomes damaged with trauma. Somatic therapy also helps to regulate the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body to relax and recover from stress. This can help to reduce symptoms of anxiety and hypervigilance, which are common in individuals who have experienced trauma.
Breathwork is a type of therapy that involves controlled breathing exercises to improve physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It is a powerful tool that has been used for thousands of years in many cultures as a way to heal and connect with the body.
Breathwork has been shown to help improve one's emotional state as well as decrease stress levels. Breathwork as also been found to help improve:
Third Eye Healing will be focusing on how the 6 elements of BioDynamic breathwork work together to facilitate trauma healing in the nervous system and two BioDynamic Breathwork techniques: Tense-Release Unwind breathwork, and specialized Chakra Breathing
Meditation and Mindfulness are two of the most time-tested and evidence-based practices for dealing with trauma. Meditation has been around for thousands of years and has been used as a tool for relaxation, stress reduction, and spiritual growth. At its core, meditation is about deconditioning and then reconditioning our brains in an engaged process. Instead of being enslaved to our patterns, meditation teaches us to decondition/recondition our patterns to create our own experience of life.
Third Eye Healing will take multiple approaches to practicing mindfulness and meditation allowing you to grow into your practice as well as trying different methods that work for you and your lifestyle. Some approaches include:
